Located just off of Highway 101, between Reedsport and North Bend, William M. Tugman State Park remains a serene and often-overlooked coastal retreat. Just a mile from the sweeping dunes of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, this peaceful park offers a perfect blend of recreation and relaxation.
Nestled along the shores of Eel Lake, Tugman is a favorite among anglers, paddlers, and campers. The lake is well-stocked with rainbow trout, crappie, largemouth bass, and seasonal Coho salmon and steelhead, making it ideal for year-round fishing. A public boat ramp, fishing dock, and swimming areas provide easy access to the water, while calm conditions are perfect for kayaking and canoeing. The park features over 90 private campsites beneath mature shore pines, as well as 16 cozy, heated yurts available by reservation. For hikers, the Eel Lake Trail follows the lake’s southern shoreline for over 3 miles, weaving through forest and along quiet inlets with rewarding wildlife and lake views.
A reservable picnic area, clean restrooms, and hot showers round out the park’s amenities. Tugman State Park is open year-round.
