Some people refer to Eugene as the “City of Bicycles.” The city has made a concerted effort to make biking a large part of living and visiting there. It has worked. There are miles of bike paths weaving throughout the area, heading into the forest or into downtown. To get a real feel for Eugene, hop on a bike and ride the legendary path along the Willamette River. It is a scenic ride with plenty of places to park the bike and go shopping, dining or to visit a brewery. Many of the paths are lighted. There are dozens of places around town to rent a bike for a day or two. For more information about bike rentals in Eugene or the bike paths, call the City of Eugene at (541) 682-5010.
